Black Obsidian

Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock.

Obsidian is produced when lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth. It is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows known as obsidian flows. Obsidian is hard and brittle and therefore fractures with very sharp edges. In the past, obsidian was used to make knives, arrowheads, spear points, scrapers, and many other weapons and tools.

Obsidian is believed to bd a strongly protective stone, it forms a shield against negativity. It blocks psychic attack and absorbs negative energies from the environment.
